Thank you for writing this. It’s the first time I’ve ever heard someone else describe the mystery of the ‘grey area.’ It’s _not_ always black and white. My experience led me to the understanding of the difference between ‘fault’ and ‘responsibility.’ i.e. what happened to me is not my fault, but it was my responsibility not to be there in the first place. (Here come the rebuttals on _that_ front…) The fact is, in an ideal world, women could dress and talk and act in whatever manner they want, safely, without fear. But we don’t live in a perfect world. And while I’m all for improving it (!!!), we all need to accept some of the responsibility if we want to keep ourselves safe. I’m not saying it’s right. I’m saying it matters more to me that I’m safe (while we create and until we live in that perfect world…)
