My mom just passed away in April. The toll that her care has taken on me, while given freely and with love, is something I have no intention of either trusting to or imposing on my kids, depending on which of the five we’re talking about.

Spending so much time in oncology and nursing homes these last thirteen years, I can confidently say that having kids is no guarantee that you’ll be cared for.

I’m spending their inheritance on me.
